The eagerly awaited second album from Shapeshifter, 'Riddim Wise LP' is easily their most advanced and appealing work yet. This is a direct result of the new levels of creativity the group have achieved over the past twelve months, adding an emphasis on funky dancefloor grooves peppered with jazzy undertones, while maintaining strong elements of drum n' bass. Recorded in their home studio in Melbourne, the album features collaborations with a handful of NZ's most exciting vocalists: Dallas Tamaira aka Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy's Drop), Karoline Tamati aka Ladi6 (Verse2 / Sheelaroc) and Paora Apera aka P Digsss (Shapeshifter / Sunshine Soundsystem). The lead single from the album, 'Been Missing' (featuring P Digsss), was released in October and second single is the wonderful 'When I Return' (featuring Ladi6). Shapeshifter brought their room-rocking sound to a plethora of festivals and summer shows, playing live at the likes of Big Day Out, Alpine Unity, Rippon, Kaikoura Roots Festival and Phat Outdoors, among others. They have built a reputation for their intense, moody live d&b sets - the kind that sets bottles rattling on bartops and internal organs quivering.
